East Victoria Park Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of high quality Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2023. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year, up to the end of Term 1, 2023.
We are looking for teachers to work across a range of curriculum areas including Science and Physical Education and Health; and year levels in K – 2 and Year 3 - 6 classrooms.
We are seeking enthusiastic and passionate teachers who are child focussed and have high expectations of student achievement and teacher efficacy. We are a Positive Behaviour Support school and our students come from many different cultural backgrounds. Knowledge of English as an Additional Language/Dialogue teaching strategies will be highly regarded. We have a Reconciliation Action Plan in place and the teaching and learning of Aboriginal cultures, histories and languages is important to us as a community. Our teachers care deeply about our students. The health and wellbeing of staff and students is a priority. We promote sustainability with many sustainable practices being part of school life.
Suitable applicants will ideally have exemplary teaching skills, and be able to plan and deliver innovative and engaging learning experiences. You should be a reflective practitioner who assesses the effectiveness of your practice to ensure it is engaging, targeted and individualised to the needs of your students. A knowledge of Guided Reading best practice, Seven Steps for Writing Success, Play Based Learning, Inquiry Learning and explicit teaching is desirable. We are working towards building Innovative Learning Environments and experience teaching in a flexible learning space is also desirable.
Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

Applicants currently completing the Department of Education Leap program (formerly known as the Switch program) can apply for vacancies using their current or Leap qualification – even if they have not completed the program at the time of applying. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
