Cottesloe Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint an experienced and vibrant Primary Teacher to join our highly-collaborative team. The successful applicant should be motivated, energetic and possess the qualities to provide an engaging and effective learning experience for all students.
We are seeking a hard-working and enthusiastic teacher who will ideally be dedicated to driving school improvement. The successful applicant will join a team that strongly adopts the school’s values and will be responsible for the implementation of whole school approaches as outlined in our school’s Strategic Plan. They will ideally actively engage in self-reflection to improve their practice and engage in observation and feedback practices to develop their understanding of our whole-school programs and pedagogy. Currently, the school uses whole-school approaches in Talk for Writing, Letters and Sounds and Words Their Way and experience in these programs is advantageous.
Applicants who can create a joyful learning environment, and be able to engage effectively with parents as partners in the learning process are highly desirable. Applicants will ideally display an ability to use data to support the teaching and learning cycle and their students’ progress and achievement.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
