Advertised Vacancy Number: DOE697895
This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing October 2021 with possible extension
About the role
As Principal Consultant School Staffing Support, you will contribute to and develop strategies to support our team, and our schools. You will lead and manage both projects and programs within the Staff Recruitment and Employment Services directorate, which enhance our service delivery to schools and worksites.
Working within the broader Staff Recruitment and Employment Services team, you will develop, implement and review processes which contribute to an effective consultancy service in relation to workforce and human resources matters.
You will work alongside our team of 16 senior consultants, who are focussed on people – engaging with them to achieve good outcomes, and working with them to build capability and knowledge in human resources.
Our schools manage their own budgets, and we support them to do this. Our day to day work sees us deliver a comprehensive and responsive workforce consultancy to school leaders in relation to human resources, school salary management and redeployment matters.
The ideal candidate
Our ideal candidate will be innovative, highly organised, and a strategic thinker.
You will be able to work collaboratively within our team and other teams in the Department, as well as independently. As an exceptional communicator, with highly developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills you will have the proven ability to build relationships at all levels, influence positive outcomes, and deliver high levels of service.
“Although we support schools with budgets, you don’t have to be a numbers person. Ideally, we are seeking someone with sophisticated interpersonal skills, who is a strategic thinker and confident communicator. Someone who seeks opportunities to improve their own skills and knowledge, and provides mentoring and coaching to build capacity in others.
We work within the legislative frameworks of the public sector, particularly in relation to redeployment, but your experience doesn’t necessarily have to be directly related to this.”
