Appointment Pool
WA College of Agriculture - Morawa (WACOA – Morawa) is seeking to establish a pool of Domestics for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2022. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2022.
Suitable applicants under the direction from the Head Cleaner or Cook will clean the college residential, school and farm facilities or prepare and serve food, whilst cleaning the kitchen, utensils and equipment and clearing waste to appropriate areas. Suitable applicants will undertake general cleaning duties across the college facilities, ensuring that a high standard of health, safety and hygiene is maintained. Other duties may include general laundry.
WACOA – Morawa is a highly regarded College which provides Agricultural Education and Training to students in Years 10, 11 and 12. Students are attracted from across Western Australia to study specialised agriculture through a combination of WACE subjects and nationally accredited certificates, with a focus on the agricultural, mining and trades areas. The Residential Campus was built in 1992, with an additional two sixteen bed dorms and a six bed medical centre completed in 2011. The design varies between individual rooms with shared ablutions or twin share rooms with a private ensuite. The dormitories are modern and well designed, fully air-conditioned and each have a common room with kitchenette and television. The Residential Campus has a state of the art dining room and kitchen where students are provided with full board.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment to a busy schedule.
- Ability to recognise and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets, equipment operating instructions, safety instructions and training guidelines.
- Ability to use all cleaning equipment supplied to colleges, including polishers, vacuum cleaners and pressure cleaners.
- Ability to carry out laundry or cleaning or catering duties, including the safe operation of cleaning or laundry or kitchen equipment and appliances.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy;
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment; and
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
