Harmony Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers – Music Specialist for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2022. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year, up to the end of Term 4, 2022.
Suitable applicants will implement a music program for students of mixed abilities, aptitudes and educational needs through planning, preparation, monitoring and assessment using a variety of technologies. They should understand the different ways in which students learn and the appropriateness of a variety of teaching styles to meet the individual learning needs of each student. They will also ideally possess sound musical knowledge and technical skill to model and inspire students, working closely with students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students.
As a valuable member of the teaching staff, you would be responsible for the educational outcomes of the school's Music curriculum and teach music to Years P – 6. This is an exciting opportunity to help create a unique and first class learning and teaching environment for gifted and talented students. The music teacher will be responsible for overseeing the schools’ annual musical production, including all rehearsal groups, school choir performances, end of year concert. They will also coordinate the instrumental music program in the school on behalf of The School for Instrumental Music and contribute to and assist with providing regular music experiences and performance opportunities, including inviting visiting musicians to the school for concerts and performance classes.
Student outcomes and personal development are areas of high priority and should underpin all pedagogy. Harmony PS commenced 2011 as an Independent Public School and in partnership with their School Board, will continue to build a team of teachers and support staff who are committed to professional excellence in education. It is located south of Perth in the housing estate of Harvest Lakes in southern Atwell. We are in our twelfth year of operation and currently have 535 enrolments. Harmony is an environmentally conscious school and the school community is committed to pursuing best practice in this area.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
