Harmony Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers – Science Specialist for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2022. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year, up to the end of Term 4, 2022.
Suitable applicants should possess strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills that will be used to support the school’s mission statement, values and priorities across the school community. Ideally, you will work effectively within a team and have the capacity to improve your own performance through reflection. Thorough knowledge of the Science curriculum area, ability to work within a team environment, and a willingness to be part of a supportive pastoral care system is highly desirable.
Student outcomes and personal development are areas of high priority and should underpin all pedagogy. Suitable applicants should have the ability to motivate others and foster strong relationships with colleagues, parents and students, in order to meet the high expectations that Harmony PS demands.
Harmony PS commenced in 2011 as an Independent Public School and in partnership with their School Board, continue to build a team of teachers and support staff who are committed to professional excellence in education. We are located south of Perth in the housing estate of Harvest Lakes in southern Atwell. We are in our twelfth year of operation and currently have 535 enrolments. Harmony PS is an environmentally conscious school and the school community is committed to pursuing best practice in this area.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
