Appointment Pool
Burns Beach Primary School (PS) (planning name) is seeking to establish a pool of enthusiastic, dedicated and committed Kindergarten to Year 6 teachers to join our team. This pool will be for appointments to permanent or fixed term, full-time or part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year, up to the end of Term, 2 2022. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2022.
We are looking for exceptional educators who possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and are committed to supporting their students to achieve excellent educational outcomes. These skills will see you establish positive and respectful relationships with your students and their families, your colleagues, and the broader school community as we build and grow our unique, inclusive and high-performing school. Suitable applicants will be required to promote, model and maintain high expectations and adhere to whole school approaches that are evidence based and supported by research. You will participate in Instructional Coaching where you will work collaboratively with your colleagues, to examine the impact of your teaching and make decisions about instruction together, based on data and focussed on student improvement. Educators at Burns Beach PS (planning name) will adopt high impact teaching strategies and use ongoing formative assessment to provide feedback to students, measure their progress, and plan differentiated learning programs to address individual student needs with a focus on progress and improvement. The ability to utilise and integrate a variety of information and technology tools and platforms to support and further student learning and, possessing the knowledge and skills to integrate STEM within your classroom practice, is highly desirable.
Our whole school, evidence based approaches will ensure that every student acquires the core literacy and numeracy skills, as well as the knowledge, understanding and attitudes to become confident 21st century learners. Our school will support our students to develop a depth of learning appropriate to students’ phase of development, in all learning areas of the Western Australian Curriculum, along with the general capabilities. We encourage teachers with Specialist Area skills, interests and talents to apply, and identify these, as we may be able to accommodate these areas flexibly as our school grows and changes.
Teachers within our ECE phase of learning will promote the principles of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards. They will recognise that children need opportunities to interact and build trusting relationships. Programs will include planned, purposeful play, balanced with the explicit teaching of essential foundation skills and concepts.
The ability to establish genuine, positive and caring relationships with our students is paramount. Our pastoral care whole school approaches will ensure each student is engaged, belongs and feels connected to our school. Knowledge, understanding and experience in implementing Classroom Management Strategies (CMS), Instructional Strategies for Engagement (ISE), Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), Social Emotional Learning and Protective Behaviours is highly desirable. We will work as a team to support our students to successfully develop their dispositions for learning such as curiosity, openness, optimism, resilience, concentration and, critical and creative thinking.
At Burns Beach PS (planning name) we will learn from, and relate respectfully with, people from our own culture as well as other cultures. All staff and students will be supported to understand, acknowledge and celebrate the diversity and richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures.
Suitable applicants will be committed to reflective classroom teaching practices and will actively participate in a school-wide, self-reflective culture of professional growth focussed on improving classroom teaching. All educators will take a personal and collective responsibility for improving student learning and wellbeing and will work together and learn from each other’s practices, utilising strategies such as peer observations and walkthroughs. Burns Beach PS (planning name) educators will participate in whole school, phase of learning and curriculum teams to contribute to whole school approaches to teaching and learning.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
