Appointment Pool
East Beechboro Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of collaborative, enthusiastic and dedicated Education Assistants - Mainstream for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year up to the end of Term 2, 2022. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencement within the 2021 school up the end of Term 2, 2022.
Applicants may be required to work a part time fraction (FTE) which is spread across a number of days and the ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule will be highly regarded.
As an Education Assistant – Mainstream, you will be welcomed into a very supportive and collaborative team where student wellbeing and achievement is of the highest priority. Under teacher direction, you will be required to assist in the delivery of planned education programs that will support the development and confidence of our students to meet set goals and academic milestones. Prior experience with intensive intervention programs such as MiniLit would be high desirable. As part of this role you will assist with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment by maintaining equipment, materials and resources, for use in classes, displays and demonstration, and by assisting the teacher with clean and safe storage of items after classes and activities. The suitable applicants will be organised and able to use their initiative to assist the teacher with the general care and well-being of students.
Suitable applicants for this role will also possess a great work ethic and maintain a high standard of professional conduct at all times. The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality will be highly considered.
East Beechboro PS is a highly respected Independent Public School in the City of Swan catering for the educational needs of approximately 440 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our student population is inclusive of many cultures as well as students with special needs. Approximately 12% of our students have an Indigenous background.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
Education Assistants working with Kindergarten students may be required to have, or be actively working towards, a Certificate lll in Education Support (or approved equivalent) in order to meet the educator-to-student ratio outlined in the National Quality Standard for Early Childhood Education and Care.
Approved equivalent qualifications are published by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
