Appointment Pool
Leeming Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of Science Teachers specialising in Biology and/or Human Biology, and Aviation for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2022. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year, up to the end of Term 4, 2022. A proven ability and willingness to teach ATAR courses for these subjects is highly favourable.
Applicants should possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills that will be used to support the school’s mission statement, values and priorities across the school community. Ideally you will work effectively within a team and have the capacity to improve your own performance through reflection. Thorough knowledge of the Science curriculum area, ability to work within a team environment and a willingness to be part of a supportive pastoral care system is highly valued.
You will develop a supportive and positive classroom environment, have proven skills in behaviour management and evidence-based pedagogy. A commitment to inclusive education and a strategic approach in planning for improved student outcomes that aligns with our pedagogical framework of Visible Learning is also desirable.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
