Located in the Goldfields-Esperance region, north of Kalgoorlie, Leonora District High School (DHS) caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. We are currently seeking a hardworking and motivated teacher to join our friendly and supportive team, teaching English and Physical Education to our secondary students.

As a member of the secondary teaching team, you will collaborate with other teachers and our Big Picture E (BPS) team to encourage students to identify and pursue their interests and passions through creating individualised learning plans. You will create a holistic pathway encompassing academic achievement, development of social skills, emotional wellbeing, respect and values for the young people in your care. Our focus for 2021 is to implement a senior school class where students will work towards becoming work ready and developing their skills to be active citizens in the local community after their Year 12 completion. The role of this teacher will be to provide the necessary academic plus social emotional support for these students to be successful learners.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
