Appointment Pool
Are you a passionate, dedicated and enthusiastic teacher of English who wants to make a positive difference in an Independent Public School?
Ocean Reef Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of engaging and highly effective English teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 and 2022 school years. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 and 2022 school years.
Suitable applicants will ideally have recent school experience teaching English across year and ability levels. Expertise and passion in teaching Lower Secondary and Middle Secondary English is favourable.
Suitable applicants should have an outstanding knowledge of the English curriculum, providing differentiated educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their individual potential. You will respond to student voice in the planning and delivery of content, encouraging active student participation in learning, and providing opportunities for formative assessment to track progress. You will ideally promote a positive learning environment in your classroom founded on clear expectations and supported by relationships you forge with students. A strong evidenced based teaching approach to teaching and learning is encouraged. Ocean Reef SHS is a bring your own device school therefore, ability to use OneNote and other digital platforms in your curriculum delivery is desirable.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
