Appointment Pool
Perth Modern School are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year.
It will be highly desirable for successful applicants to have the professional knowledge, understandings and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary school Mathematics curriculum to year 12 ATAR level. Importantly, they will ideally be enthusiastic adopters of a school wide pedagogy based on direct, explicit instruction who are keen to work collaboratively with superordinates and colleagues across the learning areas.
Suitable applicants will be joining a progressive and enthusiastic team of teachers who are engaged in implementing a whole school gifted and talented approach to the educational programs offered in the school. Teachers will ideally extend and challenge our highly able students through in-class and co-curricular activities. It is highly desirable that teachers will also be involved in our Advocacy program, supporting the social and emotional needs of gifted learners.

Perth Modern School is centrally located in Subiaco and welcomes gifted students in Years 7 to 12. Our school has a distinguished history dating back to 1911 when it was opened as WA’s first public senior secondary school. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
