Swan View Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a proactive leader to join the leadership team of our school which is committed to “Going from Strength to Strength”.
This role will lead and manage our commitment to successful student pathways for our students. As Program Coordinator – Student Achievement, you will be responsible for the daily tracking of our students with a focus on supporting them to overcome the challenges that can be a barrier to their school success and achievement of the Western Australian Certificate of Education. You will work closely with the senior leadership team to provide data driven support and educational leadership in the school and the community. With a strong understanding of change management, the successful applicant will enact whole-school leadership by working collaboratively with all stakeholders to support student engagement and improve student academic achievement. The successful applicant will have a strong capacity to develop others to ensure quality procedures and new initiatives are implemented across the school.
As the successful applicant you will ideally possess excellent interpersonal skills, proven ability to work collaboratively with school staff, parents and students. You also possess excellent organisational skills; be able to manipulate and interrogate school data bases from a range of sources and produce quality reports as you prioritise, plan and devise strategies for improvement across the school. Knowledge and experience in career counselling, particularly for students in Years 10, 11 and 12 will be valuable together with knowledge of School Curriculum and Standards Authority teaching, learning and assessment policies and procedures from Years 7- 12
As the successful applicant you will provide strategic direction for staff and promote a culture of improvement of professional performance, providing knowledge of department requirements and reporting. You will analyse and review school performance data and action lines of inquiry to inform evidence based and well-managed change, leading to whole school improvement. You will develop the capacity in all staff to source and analyse data and use it to inform and improve student achievement. You will use department's information systems to ensure accurate and timely reporting on school performance and results, implementing the requirements highlighted in the School Review document.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings;
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
- Capacity to manage physical and financial resources.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
