Broome North Primary School (PS) are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year up to the end of Term 3, 2022. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements during the 2021 school year up to the end of Term 3, 2022.
Broome North PS is an Independent Public School that caters for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. The school, opened in 2015, is a modern facility located on Yawuru land in the coastal town of Broome, part of Western Australia's stunning Kimberley region.
The school is committed to attracting, recruiting, and coaching teachers to master the explicit teaching pedagogy that produces high achieving students from Kindergarten to Year 6. As a Teacher at Broome North PS you will possess interpersonal skill-set that enables you to build strong and valuable relationships with students, staff and parents. As a suitable applicant you will use explicit instruction skills in teaching literacy and numeracy content and shifting it from short to long term memory using such strategies as the “Warm-up” or the “Daily Review”. You will also possess proactive behaviour-shaping strategies that support student engagement and a commitment to ongoing professional growth by embracing new, evidence-informed teaching practices that lead to teacher improvement and superior student outcomes. An interest or experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students is highly desirable (Broome North PS has an ATSI student population of 25%).

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
