This is a permanent part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing Term 4, 2021.
Beechboro Primary School (PS) is seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled educator with a passion for teaching and a commitment to public education to join their team. Previous experience teaching in upper primary will be highly regarded.
Applicants must have a friendly disposition and strong communication skills and be capable of forming positive working relationships with the current staff, students, parents and the wider community. We encourage teachers in maintaining strong connections with others and an ability to manage challenging behaviours and students with special needs to apply.
The suitable applicant would be able to work collaboratively with their Professional Learning Community to plan and implement engaging learning programmes. They will possess the capacity to integrate digital technologies and STEM in their classroom, have good interpersonal skills and engage effectively with students to support real world learning enquiries. Knowledge of Literacy Development (Diana Rigg) and Talk 4 writing and Spell It (DSF) will be highly regarded. Sound knowledge of all WA Curriculum documents is highly desirable.
Beechboro PS, in the Eastern Suburbs of Perth (North Metro Education District), caters for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our school is a league of many nations and comprises families who speak as many as 35 distinctly different languages and dialects other than English. Almost 50% of our students are bilingual with many being trilingual. Our specialised team of teachers and education assistants provide innovative and engaging classes for children. We enjoy very close bonds with our community who share our high expectations of student academic achievement and behaviour.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
