Advertised Vacancy Number: IPS/TCH693923
This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, part-time (0.4FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2022
Ridge View Secondary College (SC) is an Independent Public School (IPS) seeking to appoint a dedicated, highly competent and enthusiastic Language teacher for Year 7 classes in 2022.
Ridge View SC is a new and growing college which will have years 7-10 in 2022 and will be preparing for the first Year 11 cohort in 2023. Languages will be introduced at the school in 2022, to Year 7 students. This role is unique in that it gives the successful applicant the opportunity to introduce their specialist language (all languages will be considered) from Year 7 and build the program from the ground up. Languages will extend to Year 8 in 2023 and will then be optional from Year 9. As Languages will only be taught to Year 7 only in 2022 the classroom teaching allocation will be 0.4FTE, but over time the need will grow.
As this will be a 0.4 teaching load in 2022 the successful applicant will need to work part time across five days, or possibly increase their load by teaching in additional learning areas.
The successful applicant should be committed to promoting Language education and fostering student engagement in a supportive environment where success is celebrated. Flexibility in a new and growing college is essential, as well as a commitment to personal and professional growth. Instructional coaching, observation and feedback are a priority for the college and therefore we are seeking a teacher that will have a growth mindset and a desire for continuous improvement. The successful applicant should have high standards of professionalism and embrace opportunities for collaboration within and beyond the college community. The ability to work positively and effectively in teams and be open to new thinking is highly desirable.
The successful applicant should be able to provide innovative teaching and learning programs that nurture and inspire students. The college is committed to developing staff capacity to embed High Impact Teaching Strategies, as well as an ongoing focus on Responsive Teaching. As an expert practitioner you should be committed to excellence in teaching and engage in regular self-reflection. Another key attribute is the ability to create environments conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities that are purposeful and relevant, catering for different student learning needs.
The successful applicant will ideally be someone who places high emphasis on parent partnerships and desires to communicate with parents regularly throughout the year. We are seeking highly organised people who have good communication skills, are solution focussed and want to contribute to the entire college community.
The college motto of “Believe, Aspire, Pride” and the college’s core values “I can be a champion; We all matter; and We are family” are embedded into all aspects of college life for staff and students and we seek people who are willing to embrace and promote the motto and values.
