Appointment Pool
Morley Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated and passionate Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2022. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year, up to the end of Term 4, 2022.
We are seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated applicants who possess exemplary teaching skills. Suitable applicants will ideally have the ability to work in an environment characterised by whole school connected practice, a strong commitment to professional growth and collaborative Phase of Learning teams. Student achievement and progress is at the core of our work and we encourage collective responsibility for student outcomes. Morley PS teachers are committed to ongoing personal development that supports the school’s culture, the implementation of the School’s Business Plan, whole school approaches, initiatives and priorities. These include Brightpath Writing, Paul Swan Trajectories, MultiLit and the Seven Steps to Writing Success.
We celebrate a culturally diverse student population and a competent knowledge of EAL/D Progress Map implementation is highly desirable. Suitable applicants will use evidence-based teaching practices, differentiation and formative assessment to meet the needs of learners. Knowledge of high impact teaching strategies, SEN Planning and PAT testing are also desirable. Morley PS is a small school with a big heart. We collaborate with our community to sustain a positive, caring and aspirational environment in which students, families and staff can each be their best. We are actively involved in the Morley School Network and collaborate with neighbouring schools to ensure we deliver best practice to our students.
Our buildings are situated in lovely grounds and reflect our local heritage while equipped with contemporary equipment and technology. We have a well-resourced library and an Art Centre which hosts classrooms for specialist Music, Visual Arts and Science. We are developing our outdoor learning spaces and are introducing a diverse range of play options for our students.
Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

Applicants currently completing the Department of Education Leap program (formerly known as the Switch program) can apply for vacancies using their current or Leap qualification – even if they have not completed the program at the time of applying. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
