Appointment Pool
Settlers Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated and passionate Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2022. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2022.
Suitable applicants will ideally have the ability to promote successful students by motivating and engaging each student. You will ideally contribute to and deliver high quality teaching programs that incorporate a repertoire of tasks to engage and challenge, are data-driven and embrace differentiation. The capacity to maximise the integration of different information and technology tools and platforms is highly desirable. Settlers PS teachers are committed to ongoing personal development that supports the school’s culture, the implementation of the School’s Business plan, whole school approaches, initiatives and priorities. These include evidence-based pedagogies that focus on enrichment and extension. Evidence of embedding cross-curricular priorities will be viewed favourably.
Suitable applicants should ideally possess strong curriculum knowledge or desire to learn and high expectations. Settlers PS is a well-established Independent Public School located 46 km south of Perth, in the fast growing suburb of Baldivis in Western Australia. In 2021 there are 706 students enrolled from Kindergarten to Year 6. The school has a campus of five teaching blocks and well maintained grounds with shared community facilities. Teaching and learning environments reflect a positive and innovative attitude towards maximising learning opportunities. Cutting edge ICT ensures wireless access, laptop and iPad technology, and electronic whiteboards in all classrooms. ICT is an embedded tool for teaching and learning in an integrated curriculum. Student progress and achievement is monitored using authentic assessments and external validation. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
