Ocean Reef Senior High School (SHS) are seeking a passionate, innovative and committed professional who can work as part of a team to provide leadership in the school and community. Reporting to the respective Heads of Student Services, you will work collaboratively with the School Leadership team and as a member of the Student Services team to provide an environment that nurtures the emotional, physical and academic wellbeing of all students. In collaboration with members of the Student Services team, the Year Coordinator will provide educational leadership in the school and the community by developing and promoting the school vision and encouraging school staff, volunteers from the community and others to share ownership of the school’s vision and goals.
A high level of interpersonal skills and drive with the ability to establish and maintain networks, both internally and externally will be highly regarded. Additionally, the ability to effectively communicate to foster positive relationships with students, staff and families with the goal to achieve the best outcomes for our students will also be highly regarded
A large portion of this role will require exceptional organisational skills, including the ability to manage time effectively, prioritise, keep accurate records and the ability to analyse data to inform future practice. The successful applicant will be responsible for planning, actioning and reviewing aspects of the Student Services strategic plan, as well as developing strategies and programs to ensure engagement and improved learning outcomes for students. An understanding of curriculums and pathways is highly desirable.
On a day to day basis, this position requires significant expertise in the management of individual, group and school behaviours, attendance, social emotional and academic wellbeing. Utilisation of excellent communication and interpersonal skills to resolve conflict and provide timely and appropriate support to students, staff and families is also a significant part of this role.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
