Greenwood College is seeking to appoint a hardworking and motivated Student Support Officer to join our friendly and supportive team.
The successful applicant will support students to engage in education. You will be required to work in a team and individually to support students at school. This will include engaging with students before and after school, in classroom settings and at recess and lunch. This role will require you to work with students as a positive role model, supporting them to engage in education in the wide array of school situations. We are looking for someone who is flexible, adaptable and energised with the ability to relate well to teenagers while understanding protocols, processes and professionalism. You will have initiative, can think on your feet, take direction and work collaboratively with others.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to provide a professional, confidential service to a range of clients.
- Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Experience in the use of computerised management information systems including database, spreadsheet and word processing software.
- Effective organisational skills and experience in providing administrative support with the ability to manage conflicting timelines.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
