Leonora District High School (DHS) is seeking to establish a pool of Early Childhood Education and Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2022.
Located in the Goldfields-Esperance region, north of Kalgoorlie, Leonora DHS caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. We are currently seeking a hardworking and motivated teacher to join our friendly and supportive team, teaching our Early Childhood and Primary students.
Suitable applicants will ideally possess innovative, enthusiastic teaching practices with knowledge, skills and experience in teaching Early Childhood and Primary in a District High School setting. A strong commitment to professional development and continuous improvement to facilitate a best practice approach towards teaching and learning will be highly regarded.

We currently have the following positions available:
- 1x Teacher – Primary fixed term, six (6) month, full-time position with possible extension and/or permanency.
Depending on the position available suitable applicants will be appointed on their qualified teacher level and business needs of the school.

We also provide the KindiLink Program for three-year old's and their parents or carers at our offsite building. These exciting 'play and learn' sessions, run by our early childhood specialist teacher and Aboriginal Education Officer, enable us to work with parents to help prepare their children for a successful start to schooling.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
