Darling Range Sports College (DRSC), an Independent Public School, is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Technologies Teacher, who can inspire students to engage in curriculum, strive for excellence and is proactive in improving student outcomes.
Although the successful applicant will be able to effectively teach across the Design and Technology courses, and can engage students and challenges them to achieve their personal best, you must also be able to work effectively in a team and support the initiatives and programs in Design and Technology. Ideally you are experienced in delivering across all year groups in courses across Food Science, Hospitality and Textiles.
Certificate IV TAE qualification, as well as other appropriate qualifications in Hospitality, will be highly regarded.
As an educator, you will have skills in behaviour management, contemporary knowledge and a proven record of professional engagement.
A major focus of the College is also the implementation of Explicit Instruction across all learning areas. Experience using Explicit Instruction, whilst not a pre-requisite, will be highly valued. The successful applicant should be willing to incorporate this into their teaching practice and lead Explicit Instruction within the learning area.
DRSC is a Positive Behaviour School (PBS) so an understanding of this process and how it is implemented and embedded in the day-to-day operations and behaviours in the school would be desirable.
DRSC is a specialist Sports College - the first and only sports school in Western Australia. The College’s specialist sports programs are high profile programs with a significant public image. Sporting programs are in AFL, Athletics, Baseball, Basketball, Netball, Soccer, Swimming, Triathlon and Rugby. Complementing our sporting programs are extensive opportunities to participate in the Academic Challenge and Enrichment Program ‘ACES’, the Music Program, the Vocational Educational Program and the Arts Program.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
