Appointment Pool
We are looking for experienced recruitment practitioners with Public Sector experience to join our team
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new initiative for the recruitment of school principals and key executive officers
We are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to fixed term and permanent, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2021. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements to June 2022. Up to four 12 month fixed term positions will be available.
About the role
As part of our new Executive Recruitment team, you will be a key contributor to a new initiative supporting our Corporate Executive and Directors of Education with the recruitment, selection and appointment processes of school principals and senior executives.
The team has been established to deliver a comprehensive recruitment service for key appointments. The Consultants will be responsible for providing a comprehensive recruitment consultancy service which will include proactive panel support, and expert advice related to public sector merit selection practices, tools and procedures. Panel support functions will include:
- Provision of an advisory and consultancy service to recruitment panels regarding all aspects of the recruitment process;
- Preparation of position related information to support the advertising and filling of vacancies;
- Facilitating and providing direct support to panels; and
- Finalising selection outcomes.
The ideal candidate
The successful candidates will be experienced recruitment practitioners with experience in public sector recruitment. We are seeking highly organised candidates who are enthusiastic about contributing to the delivery of the new panel support function. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to confidently develop solid professional working relationships with key stakeholders, and colleagues in your new team, will be critical for success in the role.
This selection process will initially be used to fill up to four positions.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Knowledge and understanding of the public sector human resource management framework and experience in providing comprehensive recruitment consultancy and advisory services.
- Well-developed verbal communication skills, interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to liaise, consult and negotiate effectively at senior levels in the public sector and with school community representatives.
- High level organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise and implement strategies to deliver quality customer focussed outcomes within set timeframes.
- Well-developed written communication skills with the demonstrated ability to prepare and present complex recruitment and assessment documentation to a range of stakeholders.
- Well-developed conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills and ability to anticipate, identify and analyse issues and recommend innovative solutions aligned to business needs.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
