This is a six (6) month fixed term, part-time (0.8FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2021 with possible extension (12 months)
Beverley District High School (DHS) is seeking to appoint a highly enthusiastic Primary Teacher working in a tandem role, in a fixed-term position for the remainder of the 2021 school year, with a possible 12 month extension. The successful applicant will be a vibrant and motivated educator with the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs in line with school planning, to meet the needs of our students.
The successful applicant will ideally possess the knowledge of, and ability in, effective teaching of programs aligned with Beverley DHS. This role requires a committed approach to Explicit Direct Instruction, and delivery of our school based programs outlined by our School Business and Operational Plans. Being able to provide an enriched, supportive and engaging classroom environment, with a focus on supportive pastoral care and strong positive behaviour management is highly sought.
In addition to classroom teaching, the successful applicant will require outstanding interpersonal skills and have an ability to build effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. The ability to work positively and collaboratively is viewed as essential in this tandem teaching role and whole school approach to teaching and learning. As is a willingness to actively participate in classroom observations and coaching. A growth-mindset with a commitment to ongoing self-development through research and professional learning, regarding current evidence-based practice will be highly valued.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
