This is a forty-two (42) month fixed term, full-time position commencing ASAP with possible extension (36 months) and/or permanency
The Early Childhood Education, Literacy and Numeracy area of the Department of Education are seeking a Project Officer – KindiLink to join their cohesive and integrated team.
The Project Officer will work collaboratively with the KindiLink team, and more broadly across the early childhood team, and 38 KindiLink programs and school sites. The successful applicant will possess data analysis and excel spreadsheet skills, with sound written, interpersonal and communication skills. The Project Officer will be responsible for the management of finances and organisation of travel arrangements.
The KindiLink team is very cohesive and works in an integrated way. There is a strong sense of wanting to improve the early learning of young children, and to contribute to the success of their future schooling.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our division for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Research, analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to achieve comprehensive, accurate and timely outcomes against a defined project brief.
- Sound written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, briefings and correspondence.
- Sound oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with individuals, groups and organisations.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, assist and contribute to the achievement of project outcomes.
- Sound organisational skills with an ability to work independently and as part of a team.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

Employees will be required to:

- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment

- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
