Are you an experienced and dedicated Human Resources Officer?
Margaret River Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to find a talented and motivated Human Resources Officer to commence at the beginning of Term 3, 2021.
The successful applicant will ideally have highly developed interpersonal skills and work well as part of a team. The Human Resources Officer works closely with the Principal to strategically manage the workforce development plan at Margaret River SHS in relation to teaching staff. The role of the Human Resources Officer is to assist the principal in the implementation, coordination and recruitment of teaching staff in line with the Salaries component of One Line Budget.
The successful candidate will ideally be highly proficient in engaging skills, the ability to work both in a team and as an individual to achieve the planned outcomes of the Margaret River SHS business plan.
Experience using Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS), Schools Resourcing System (SRS) and Recruitment Advertising Management System (RAMS) is highly desirable. Applicants who possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to strategically plan and prioritise within the area of Human Resource Management are encouraged to apply.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Human resource management skills with the ability to interpret and apply human resource policies, awards and legislation in a public sector context, including recruitment, selection and appointment principles and practices.
- Well developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to liaise effectively with staff and work within a team environment.
- Organisational skills with the ability to work with minimum supervision to meat conflicting time lines.
- Skills and experience in data management, reporting and analysis.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy;
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment; and
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
