Appointment Pool
Mindarie Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise from the beginning of Term 4, 2021 and up to the end of Term 4, 2022. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements from the beginning of Term 4, 2021, up to the end of Term 4, 2022.
We are seeking applicants who are ideally motivated, innovative, and possess high quality teaching skills. They will be committed to ongoing professional growth and development, support current whole-school processes and participate in whole school collaborative planning.
Suitable applicants will ideally have excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity to work as part of an effective team and engage in whole school planning. We seek teachers with the ability to inspire students to develop an enthusiasm for learning in vibrant, engaging and supportive classrooms. You will ideally have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. You should possess a strong capacity to plan, present and assess challenging and engaging programs and have a sound understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum.

Mindarie PS is a Teacher Development School with a proven capacity to provide professional learning and share expertise with colleagues across Western Australia. As teachers at Mindarie PS provide face to face and online professional learning in the areas of Mathematics, English and the use of SEN planning, a proven capacity to develop others would be highly regarded in successful candidates. Mindarie PS is a Visible Learning school. In order for staff to effectively work at Mindarie Primary they will ideally have an awareness of how to measure the impact their teaching has on students’ progress and achievement and how they can develop visible learners through the use of clear learning intentions and success criteria whilst utilising SOLO Taxonomy to differentiate their teaching to the needs of all students.
Mindarie PS is a BYOD iPad school in Year’s 4-6. Suitable applicants will have the ability to integrate technology in their lessons, and engage students in the learning process utilising digital software to enhance learning. Suitable applicants will ideally have highly developed ICT and digital technologies skills, and be experienced in programs such as Connect, Seesaw, SEQTA and WebEx.
Mindarie PS' core curriculum has a strong focus on literacy, numeracy and science. Teachers utilise the Western Australian Curriculum in these key areas to inform content delivery and assessment. Whole school approaches are embedded. Specialist programs operate in the following areas: Science, Physical Education, Music, Media, Arts, Library and Primary Extension and Challenge (PEAC) for academically talented students in Years 4-6. Selected students in years 5 and 6 who demonstrate a strong aptitude for music have the opportunity to participate is specialised instrumental lessons provided by the School of Instrumental Music. Students experiencing educational difficulties are catered for through Individual Education Plans (IEP). The school has an experienced and committed staff who work collaboratively to provide the best possible learning environment for students.
Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
