Leinster Community School are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher – Humanities and Social Sciences and English to join their friendly team.
We are seeking a passionate and flexible teacher who will thrive on the diversity of being a Secondary and Primary Teacher. This role will suit someone who is highly motivated, student and relationship focussed and able to provide engaging, relevant and meaningful learning experiences. This role will appeal to both experienced and new graduate teachers who would like an opportunity to join our strong collegiate and supportive school.
The successful applicant is ideally someone who thrives on the challenge of building strong relationships with students, and helping them to identify and work towards academic and life goals. Our school has a very welcoming and supportive staff who work together to improve the learning outcomes for our whole school community. This role is very different from many traditional high school roles and will require a collaborate effort with the other high school teacher to take responsibility for the cohort, coordinating in and out of class events and supporting community events.
The successful applicant will teach a combination of subject areas - English, HASS and Primary HASS. Our current enrolment of secondary students is 16 students from years 7-12. Our total school population is 130 students.
Leinster Community School is a supportive team environment where everyone works towards a shared vision. Leinster is located in the Northern Goldfields of Western Australia. It is a closed mining town where the school supports the students of mine workers in the region. There is the opportunity to fly in and out of the community. The community is well resourced with an IGA, hairdresser, beautician, swimming pool, gym and tavern.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
