Westfield Park Primary School (PS) is seeking a dedicated and committed, qualified Early Childhood Teacher to join our friendly and supportive school community. The school follows a trauma informed ethos and has been independently verified as meeting all Quality Areas of the National Quality Standard.
The successful applicant will ideally possess a strong knowledge of all key elements of Early Years pedagogy and curriculum as well as an ability to inspire students to develop a passion for learning in vibrant, engaging and supportive classrooms. The successful applicant will be highly motivated, display excellent interpersonal skills and have an ability to build effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community.
The successful applicant will initially be appointed to a specialist, early-intervention class of Year 1 and 2 students called the Nurture Group. They will ideally be able to display highly developed competencies in differentiating the curriculum, particularly in Literacy and Numeracy and be able to structure learning experiences within a play-based environment. They will provide a nurturing and supportive environment that ensures the wellbeing of all and build positive relationships with all members of the school community. Professional learning and coaching will be provided to the successful applicant in Nurture Group principles and practice.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
