Forrestdale South East PS, located in Piara Waters, will be opening in 2022 for K-6 students, including students with special needs. A unique opportunity exists to join our foundation team as Library and Administration Support Officer, working to establish, develop and define our school library as an accessible and welcoming place for all and to provide administrative support for school operations. In all aspects of the role, you reflect our school, and embody our values of inclusivity, respect and achievement.
The successful applicant will pioneer and continue to evolve and develop the day-to-day operations of the library and provision of reference, information, and associated services to staff and students. We use the Accessit system to accession, track and audit our resource collections throughout the school, and experience with this, or a similar library management system will be highly regarded.
You will create engaging displays, select appropriate resources suited to the needs of our students and staff, and maintain the school’s wider collections of teaching and learning resources across the library and specific resource rooms, ensuring all resources are maintained, stored and displayed to maximise accessibility and teaching and learning use.
This role also requires the ability to provide administrative support in school operations, particularly in finance, enrolments, community relations and student services. Experience with Integris and the RM Billing system is desirable. With your outstanding organisation skills, you will assist in preparing correspondence, newsletters, notices and other materials including updating digital and online platforms such as the school website and content management system, as well as the library website. You will ideally have the capacity to work independently and show initiative in your daily tasks, while maintaining connection to and proud membership of our united team.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including application of customer service principles and practices.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
- Ability to use computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spread sheets and word processing.
- Experience in providing administrative support with the ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- Complete the Department's induction program within three months of commencement
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- Complete the Department's training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
