Castlereagh School is looking to appoint a Conductor to work in our Conductive Education (CE) classes
Our programs, including Conductive Education, are highly effective due to the expertise of our staff, the quality of the learning opportunities and the way we work with other professionals and parents. Our specialist Conductive Education program attracts enrolments from across the metropolitan area. All staff at Castlereagh Street are recruited for their specialist knowledge, experience and skills in special needs education.
Castlereagh School motivates children and young adults aged 4 to 18 in a vibrant, nurturing, educational environment. Whilst we foster academic skills through the Western Australian Curriculum, we also place great value on independent living, enterprise and social skills, encouraging our students to be as independent as possible. We regard every student to be an individual with their unique strengths, needs and learning preferences.
All students have complex communication and learning needs and are provided with a well-balanced educational experience with a literacy and communication focus. Castlereagh implements the Comprehensive Literacy approach with daily Literacy Block sessions of Guided & Shared Reading, Writing, Self-Selected Reading and Working with Words and Letters. As effective communication partners all staff have their own Pragmatic Organisation Dynamic Display (PODD) communication book and wear and use this throughout the school day. Staff use their PODD to have conversations, teach, interact with students and to support meaningful communication in everyday situations.
Our Conductor works alongside class teachers to provide students with rigorous, meaningful and engaging experiences which encourage every student to learn and to grow. We build high expectations for learning in staff, parents and students. The Castlereagh School Conductor is expected to commit to high level collaboration as part of the whole school and phase of schooling collaborative planning teams.
