This is a six (6) month fixed term, full-time position commencing ASAP with possible twelve (12) month extension
The Road Safety and Drug Education Branch is seeking to appoint a highly dedicated and motivated individual to the role of Senior Consultant.
The Senior Consultant will assist with the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of education programs, projects, policies, procedures and guidelines with a focus on alcohol and other drug education. You will develop strong partnerships with schools and key stakeholders to enhance the delivery of education programs whilst assisting with the provision of specialist advice, program support and professional learning.
This role will require an individual with strong conceptual and analytical skills who has the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our division for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Substantial knowledge and understanding of strategies, programs and policies associated with road safety and/or AOD education and ability to apply this knowledge.
- Skills and experience in developing customer focussed programs and strategies and implementing support programs.
- Highly developed oral communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Highly developed written communication skills, including experience in the preparation of policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to identify and clarify issues and problems and generate strategies to address them.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
