Ocean Reef Senior High School (SHS) is looking for a passionate teacher with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. A dedicated teacher of Digital and Design Technologies, the successful applicant will have the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students.
The successful applicant will possess excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum; be able to deliver content in an engaging manner; have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be a highly effective team member. You will engage in reflective practice, have a strong evidence-based teaching approach and be committed to whole-school pedagogical approaches. Effective classroom management, the ability to differentiate curriculum to cater for individual student needs and promote an environment of active and positive learning are also a strong focus for the position.
The successful applicant will be a proactive and passionate Technologies Teacher who is able to effectively teach across the school’s Design and Digital programs. Ocean Reef SHS provides a wide variety of courses from Years 7-12 including: Digital Technologies, Dimensional and Product Design, Engineering, Metal, Wood and the integration of new technology using CAD and drawing software to utilise 3D printers and laser cutters. The successful applicant will ideally also have a strong working knowledge of design and digital teaching strategies to develop technology based cooperative learning instructional strategies, to build and implement programs with a STEM focus. Applicants with experience and/or interest in participating in cross curricular Science, Technologies, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) initiatives are encouraged to apply.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
