Appointment Pool

East Manjimup Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Cleaners for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2022. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2022.
Suitable applicants will work collaboratively with the current cleaner to perform regular cleaning tasks throughout the school. This includes the maintenance of carpets and hard floor surfaces, toilet cleaning, furniture and fittings, window cleaning, dusting, rubbish removal, and other items of general cleaning. As a cleaner at our school, you will ensure a high level of site cleanliness and hygiene is maintained throughout the school and have the ability to learn the skills and knowledge for site specific cleaning operations. Consideration will be given to applicants who cannot work 30 hours per week and/or would prefer to work during school hours.
You will have good attention to detail and will be able to work well on your own. Being part of a team and assisting the other members of the cleaning team when required is important to the role, to ensure a clean and safe school environment. You will ideally be organised, honest, reliable and punctual and have excellent knowledge of cleaning equipment and safe cleaning procedures.
East Manjimup PS is located in the South West of Western Australia and provides a beautiful family friendly rural setting with the school nestled between farm land and forest. We have a friendly and positive school culture, with dedicated administration and staff support.
Here at East Manjimup PS we have a strong emphasis on outdoor learning This is evidenced in our Nature playground, annual Creek Play, Bush Kindy sessions and various other opportunities. Our school also has a strong focus on recycling, running a current (Waste Wise) program.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- Complete the Department’s online training in manual tasks and hazardous substances within three months of commencement
- Complete Fundamentals of Cleaning training as soon as practicable
- Complete any other training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a ten (10) day breach period to this selection process.
