This is a seven (7) month fixed term, part-time (0.7FTE) position commencing Term 2, 2021 with possible extension and/or permanency
Tuart Hill Primary School (PS) is seeking to employ a Primary - Arts Specialist teacher who has a passion for teaching in a variety of Art areas with a focus on Visual Arts. This position is for a fixed term until the end of 2021, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.
The successful applicant will develop and offer a Visual Arts program that inspires and encourages all students to reach their creative and expressive potential. They will provide students with the opportunity to experience the love of art through a wide range of mediums. The successful applicant will embrace the highly developed pedagogical practice of the school. Applicants should be well versed in the Primary West Australian Arts Curriculum and be able to deliver and collaborate within a team. The applicant will ideally possess a knowledge of the Explicit Teaching Model.
Knowledge and application of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is desirable. Applicants should be willing to engage in whole school development and practice. An understanding of the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework will be advantageous. The successful applicant would have displayed ability to engage the wider community within the Arts area, as there is strong support for our Visual Art program.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
