Appointment Pool
Thornlie Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Teachers, Kindergarten to Year 6 for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2022. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2022.
Thornlie PS is seeking teachers who are motivated, dedicated, flexible and possess exemplary teaching skills. We are seeking teachers who are able to provide a high quality education to every student, every day at Thornlie Primary.
Thornlie PS places a high emphasis on student success, and values the educational, social, emotional and physical development of our students. Students at Thornlie PS are taught the skills necessary to meet the challenges of the future and are given opportunities to practice these through a variety of engaging learning experiences. We seek teachers who possess excellent interpersonal skills, enabling them to work within a collaborative team environment and engage in whole school planning. Suitable applicants will have the demonstrated capacity and commitment to, ongoing professional growth and development, support for current whole-school processes and participation in whole school collaborative planning. Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate their capacity to implement a differentiated, targeted curriculum to a diverse range of students, e.g. Aboriginal students, students with special needs and English as an Additional Language/Dialect students who may be in the Intensive English Centre (Stage 1) or in the mainstream school (Stage 2 and 3). A thorough understanding of the West Australian Curriculum to inform their planning, teaching and assessment is required.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
