This is a permanent part-time (0.3FTE) position commencing Term 2, 2021
Westminster Primary School (PS) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic French Language Teacher to join their team.
The successful applicant will be a passionate, experienced, highly motivated and team orientated educator with the ability to provide a high quality teaching and learning LOTE (French) program to meet the needs of our students. You will have strong interpersonal skills to promote the school’s values and positive relationships between students, staff, parents and the wider community. The successful applicant will be expected to work collaboratively with other teachers to provide a comprehensive program that complements existing school and year level programs within the Western Australian Curriculum.
The successful applicant will engage in ongoing self-reflection and assess the effectiveness of teaching practice to create an environment conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities which provide purposeful and relevant learning experiences that cater for different student learning needs.
Westminster PS and Westminster Junior PS amalgamated this year. More than 62% of our families are from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds. Westminster PS shares its site with Westminster Education Support Centre and the Child and Parent Centre (CPC) - Westminster, which has become an integral part of the services we offer our community. The positive and challenging programs we teach at Westminster mean our children develop the necessary knowledge and skills to become confident, independent learners.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
