Ridge View Secondary College (SC) is an Independent Public School (IPS) seeking to appoint a dedicated, highly competent and enthusiastic Music teacher with excellent interpersonal skills.

There is an opportunity to design and develop a 7-12 Music program that includes a contemporary and technological focus, while fostering student performance skills. The Music Teacher will be able to provide innovative teaching and learning programs that nurture and inspire students. As an expert practitioner you will have commitment to excellence in teaching and engage in regular self-reflection. Another key attribute is the ability to create environments conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities that are purposeful and relevant, catering for different student learning needs.
The successful applicant will have outstanding interpersonal skills with a natural ability to communicate and relate to parents, students and staff members. You will be highly organised and have good communication skills in order to lead a number of school events and activities such as music festivals and concerts; whole school assemblies and ceremonies; coordinate Instrumental Music tutors; and coordinate musical instruments and equipment. It is highly desirable for the successful applicant to have experience in the Technologies learning area, as this will be a component of the FTE in the initial years.
Ridge View SC opened in 2019 and currently has year 7-9 students and will grow a further cohort each year until it reaches around 1600 students in 2024 with Years 7-12. All staff are expected to support and foster positive college culture, as well as promote the college motto of “Believe, Aspire, Pride” and the college’s core values.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
