Safety Bay Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to employ a dedicated, talented and innovative Business and Career Teacher.
With an interest in working with young people, the successful applicant will have a positive attitude and willingness to work with like-minded people. You will foster a love of learning in your students whilst engaging in ongoing professional learning opportunities. This role requires the successful applicant to be highly proficient in engaging and motivating students whilst supporting the school’s priorities and business plan.
To be successful in this role you will be a passionate educator, committed to making a difference in the lives of young people. In addition to educating and supporting the ongoing development of student capabilities, you would be student and relationship focused, highly motivated, innovative and work collaboratively in a team environment. Although not essential, applicants with a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment are encouraged to apply.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
