Mindarie Senior College (SC) is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Music teacher to join their team. The successful applicant will ideally have experience in teaching the General Music Course to Year 11 students and ideally with experience in teaching the Certificate II in Music Industry course to Year 12 students.
The successful applicant will ideally possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills that will be used to develop and promote the school’s values, ethos and priorities across the school community. You will ideally work effectively in a team environment as well as demonstrate quality teaching that enables students to achieve their potential. The successful applicant will work closely with students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students in the classroom and extra-curricular contexts. Pastoral care also remains a highly desirable aspect of the role.
Using key instructional strategies and differentiation strategies, you will be responsible for delivering the schools’ music program in line with the Music Curriculum as a member of the Arts Learning Area. Ideally, the successful applicant will be able to cater to differing learning styles, and will also possess the necessary teaching and learning strategies used to engage and motivate all students. Suitable applicants will ideally have a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Mindarie Senior College is a purpose built senior college designed to meet the educational needs of young adults completing Years 11 and 12. We provide a comprehensive education with pathways leading to attainment of an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR), Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualifications or future employment. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
