Newton Moore Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to engage a teacher who has specific skills and experience to teach subjects associated with the Technologies Curriculum.

The successful applicant will ideally be able to teach Design & Technology subjects with strong capabilities in woods, plastics, electronics, CAD/CAM, metals and graphic communication. The successful applicant will also ideally have the capacity to teach other Technologies subjects from Years 7 - 12. The applicant will require sound interpersonal skills, enthusiasm and be able to work cooperatively in a Technologies Learning Area team. Sound classroom management, the ability to develop rapport and motivate students, differentiate curriculum to cater for individual student needs, and to practise a range of teaching strategies are a strong focus for this position. Holding a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment in their specialised area is valued.

Newton Moore SHS is located in Bunbury, 175kms south of Perth. We have a strong commitment to offering innovative and best practice educational programs. The school delivers two Department of Education Approved Specialist Academic Programs: Science Horizons and Engineering Specialist. Newton Moore SHS is also Teacher Development School (TDS) for secondary science and a Lead Language School and supports with training and assisting staff across the South West. The school is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) for Certificate II courses in Aquaculture and Workplace Skills.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
