Advertised Vacancy Number: SS/TCH677153
This is a nine (9) month fixed term, part-time (0.3FTE) position commencing Term 2, 2021
Seaforth Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher – Early Childhood Education for their KindiLink program.
KindiLink has a dual focus on children's learning and the confidence and capability of parents/caregivers. This dual focus is based on research, which shows that high quality learning programs for children prior to school entry can ameliorate the disadvantages that often co-exist with Aboriginality. The KindiLink learning programs and activities take into account the learning and development needs of participating children; the program is delivered for a minimum of six hours a week during the school term; it is advertised within the community, and provided for a Target Group, including families outside a school's Local Intake Area.
Target group families and children attend and are engaged in KindiLink sessions; effective partnerships with the local community are built and maintained, and attendance data is provided every five weeks to the Early Childhood Branch. The desired outcomes of the KindiLink program include: improving the social, emotional, language and cognitive capabilities of Aboriginal children in participating communities; improving the social, emotional, language and cognitive capabilities of participating non-Aboriginal children, and building the capability and confidence of parents/caregivers as their child's first educator. Also, the aim is to build productive, enduring relationships between the family, the school and the community, and to improve school attendance among participating children during their future schooling.
The successful applicant will possess excellent interpersonal skills, be a highly proficient classroom teacher and be capable of engaging and motivating students and their parent/carer. Personal growth is a critical element for professional success and the successful applicant will be committed to ongoing development to ensure adherence to the school's priorities and direction. Commitment to achieving the very best educational outcomes for our students is desirable.
The position requires you to work as part of a dedicated team and provides you with the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to our school community. As a teacher at Seaforth PS you will have a passion for Early Years education, have highly developed organisational and interpersonal skills, have a thirst for achievement and inspire learning in others as well as build the capacity of parents as first educators.
