Nulsen Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint a dynamic and positive school officer who is organised and highly professional to join our administration team.
The School Officer will provide assistance to the Manager Corporate Services in the delivery of school financial and Human Resource Information System Program. Knowledge and experience of Integris, Billing, OutReach, Microsoft Word, and Publisher is highly desirable, but not essential. The school officer will also assist with the maintenance of school facilities, assets and resources including reporting faults, organising repairs, assisting with stock take. As the School Officer you will support student-related activities such as maintaining student attendance records, generating routine reports and correspondence related to absenteeism and assisting with student enrolment procedures. Other duties will include operating and maintaining office equipment including monitoring and ordering office consumables, the compilation of the school newsletter and uploading this and other documents to the school website and other media. You will also provide direct administrative support for the Principal and administration team. The hours of the position will be Monday through Friday 8am to 3.30pm.
The successful applicant will ideally be customer service focused with strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. They will also be reliable, self-motivated and able to meet deadlines in a busy environment. In addition, they will ideally possess the ability to work well within a team environment providing support to the administration team, support staff, school community and teaching staff.
Nulsen PS is an Independent Public School that caters for Kindergarten to Year 6 students. Nulsen PS was established in 1972 and is a Level 4 Government school located in Esperance. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Experience in providing general office administrative support with ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Ability to use computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including application of customer service principles and practices.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy;
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment; and
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
