Leeming Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of experienced, motivated and flexible School Officers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the remainder of the 2021 school year and until the end of Term 2, 2022. . Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2022.
We are seeking professional and positive School Officers, with demonstrated experience in a busy primary school office, possessing excellent communication skills and a strong customer service focus. Ideally, applicants will exhibit a focus on team work, self-motivation, initiative and model excellence in customer and administrative support service delivery. The School Officer ideally will possess strong organisational skills in delivering and prioritising tasks when under pressure, have an eye for detail and high level of accuracy.
The School Officer enters student enrolment data, maintains student attendance records and generates routine reports from the school databases. Other responsibilities will include overseeing of first aid and first aid stock. As such, experience in Health Planning for Students, Third Party Permissions, Integris, including billing and receipting of monies in RM Billing, and Connect would be highly desirable. As part of this role the School Officer is responsible for building community engagement and public relations through responsibilities such as the production of a fortnightly newsletter, website management and maintenance of the school’s push notification system.
In this role you will assist the Manager Corporate Services in accounts payable and receivable, end of month processing, support staff relief payments, electronic advices, online fortnightly pay verification, HRMIS reports ensuring accuracy, Working with Children, Criminal Screening, non-teaching relief compliance and securing non-teaching relief during the work day. You will also support the Manager Corporate Services during end of year preliminary planning and complete the RM Billing End of Year (EOY) rollover. Experience in RM Finance and HRMIS would be highly desirable.
Located in the Perth suburb of Leeming, 15km south of the city, Leeming PS is an Independent Public School that currently caters for approximately 337 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Students are generally well adjusted, well cared for, alert and eager to learn, with most from English speaking backgrounds. The school has gained a number of academic awards and has an enviable record in the sporting arena. Many of the residents are the original families of the Leeming private housing estate developed in 1977.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Experience in providing effective administrative support with the ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Experience in financial processes and procedures, including the handling of debtors, creditors, reconciliations, and /or preparing financial returns.
- Ability in using computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and experience in the application of customer service principles and practices.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
