Appointment Pool
Rockingham Lakes Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of highly committed and dedicated teachers from Kindergarten to Year 6, including possible Specialist learning areas, for appointments for full-time and part-time fixed term or permanent vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Commencements can be made from the pool from the beginning of Term 3, 2021 until the end of Term 2, 2022.
Rockingham Lakes PS is an Independent Public School that opened in 2002 and is located in the established suburb of Port Kennedy. Our highly professional staff have a strong commitment to collaboration across the school, maintaining an environment where students, parents and staff feel connected and are able to live up to our motto of 'Be Proud'.
We are seeking teaching staff who are passionate about developing lifelong learners, are highly collaborative, and willing to continually self-reflect and improve upon their own performance and whole school priorities. Rockingham Lakes PS has a Visible Learning approach to teaching and learning with a focus on our six learner qualities, effective lesson design and targeted feedback. Student Wellbeing is at the forefront of our Behaviour Management Policy. Applicants are strongly encouraged to refer to the Rockingham Lakes Business Plan (2021-2023) which outlines our priorities and is attached to this advertisement.
Suitable applicants will work to further develop and embed our whole school programs and pedagogical approaches. Experience with Zones of Regulation, Talk for Writing and Back to Front Maths is considered advantageous but not essential. Early Childhood Education applicants will require knowledge and implementation of current educational research including best practice in early literacy and numeracy development and play based learning. Specialist teachers are encouraged to indicate their area of expertise.
Suitable applicants will need to be able to work within a distributed leadership model that incorporates our Administration Team, Professional Learning Community Leaders and Teacher Leaders responsible for the priority areas listed in our Business Plan (2021-2-23). Collaborative planning, data analysis and a commitment to focus on the development of students in collaboration with Year Level Teams is expected.
