Appointment Pool
The Business and Customer Services (BCS) Directorate is seeking to establish a pool of Records Officers in the Corporate Information Services branch for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2021. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements during 2021.

The Records Officer position is responsible for scanning and indexing hard copy and electronic files and documents, processing records for offsite storage or disposal in accordance with the Department’s records management policies and procedures. Records Officers may be required to travel to both metropolitan and regional schools throughout Western Australia. The position involves heavy lifting and manual handling of boxes.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Ability to accurately appraise, classify and sentence records.
- Good communication with the ability to provide information clearly and concisely.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively and constructively as part of a team.
- Good planning and organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks and work within agreed timelines.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- hold a current C class driver’s licence
- undertake travel within the metropolitan and regional areas of Western Australia
- complete training in manual handling
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
