Duncraig Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint an outstanding educator to collaborate and support staff with innovative learning opportunities and strategies that maximises educational outcomes for all students in the classroom.
Teachers at Duncraig Senior High School are highly skilled and exceptional classroom practitioners who demonstrate an understanding of current educational research and are able to effectively implement such research into their own classroom practice. As well, our experienced teaching staff provide a supportive educational environment for every child through a wide variety of subjects and courses.
As a Teacher - Quality and Innovations, you will work closely and collaboratively with our Teaching and Learning Program Coordinator as well as our Manager – Technology and Communications to promote high-quality teaching and learning. A familiarity with using technologies, including Office 365, Saron Education Quality Teachers' Assistant (SEQTA) and emerging technologies and tools, would be advantageous. Duncraig SHS currently operates a blended environment (using both Apple products and Windows) where teachers have a full spectrum of digital technologies at their disposal.
The successful applicant will be supporting staff to explore innovative approaches and embed high impact instructional strategies in their teaching philosophy. Successful applicants will also be a part of Duncraig SHS’s leading, supporting, performance and development culture within the school and, as such, will ideally, have excellent interpersonal skills by quickly building positive, impactful relationships with teachers and key stakeholders. In addition, applicants who have a passion and/or proficiency in using Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) innovatively in the classroom and be able to help support teachers using these tools to maximise best practice are strongly encouraged to apply.
It is envisaged that this role will have a partial teaching load, and upon appointment, this will be discussed and negotiated with the successful applicant.

- Research and propose new ways to enhance teaching and learning, actively stay abreast of new innovations and participate in relevant professional learning opportunities;
- Develop and maintain a network of connections beyond the School and be well-versed in presenting to staff, students, parents and broader communities;
- Be actively involved in the School’s Instructional Framework Committee;
- Promote innovation and cross-curricular collaboration, and foster purposeful, meaningful and creative integration of technology;
- Engage students and create unique environments and accessible experiences that inspire creativity, innovation and collaboration;
- Be an outstanding classroom teacher that continually demonstrates quality teaching and uses this to support others in their own teaching practice;
- Support teachers in professional learning opportunities in Teaching and Learning, including TeachWell Master Classes.
Duncraig Senior High School is situated in the north-western suburbs on the coastal strip 18km from Perth. We cater for students from Year 7 to Year 12 and are a school of high standards where the care and progress of every child is the first priority.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
