Are you a Multi skilled and passionate Multi Instrumental Music Teacher looking for an opportunity in the Regions?
Instrumental Music School Services is seeking an Instrumental Music Teacher – Classical Guitar, Woodwind and Percussion for an appointment to a permanent, full time position, beginning in Term 2 of the 2021 school year. Suitable applicants must possess high levels of teaching and performance competence on multiple Instruments.
Applicants will ideally show evidence of the following Professional knowledge:
- Improvisation in a variety of styles including in a soloist capacity.
- Sight reading appropriate to each instrument.
- Direction of ensembles.
- Writing arrangements for ensembles that can include woodwind, brass, keyboards and other instruments.
- Assembling and operating PA systems and other equipment associated with ensembles
Candidates will embrace the opportunity to work in the Esperance area, in a thriving music community with a positive approach in a variety of school environments. The successful applicants will be required to teach Instrumental Music in small groups at a range of schools in the network. Students will be drawn from years 5 – 12 in a number of schools within the Esperance area. You will be expected to teach to the WA Curriculum, the IMSS Instrumental Curriculum and conduct ensembles. You should be able to work independently, demonstrate a growth mindset, energy and passion for the subject and to be skilled at performance on Classical Guitar, Woodwind and Percussion instruments. We are seeking teachers with excellent communication and ICT skills.
There is a particularly close collegial relationship amongst staff that allows for significant professional growth as a teacher and musician.
A Cert IV qualification in order to deliver Cert II Music is also highly regarded.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
