Alkimos (Shorehaven) Primary School (planning name) will open in 2022. It is located at the northern tip of Alkimos and will service surrounding estates. It will open as a Level 5 school but is expected to rapidly grow.
The school is seeking a Manager of Corporate Services who will work in partnership with the Principal in establishing a school ethos and culture that will then flow through to the rest of the school. Being the school’s foundation Manager of Corporate Services, the successful applicant will provide a clear vision of how the administration office will operate and how it will positively promote the school.
The Manager of Corporate Services will be responsible for the school’s financial, physical and human resources as well as the supervision of all non-teaching staff. The Manager of Corporate Services will be a member of the Executive Leadership Team and as such, will provide professional input into the development of the school’s Business and Strategic Plans. It is expected that the Manager of Corporate Services will have all the necessary skills to operate independently, effectively and efficiently at a wide range of levels from the corporate to the individual. Whilst not essential, it would be desirable for the applicant to be able to demonstrate the successful application of their skills across a range of settings.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Leadership skills in the delivery of business outcomes and sound customer service principles and practices.
- Well-developed oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to use effective negotiation skills.
- Sound financial management skills, including budget preparation and the ability to interpret and apply financial and accounting practices and procedures.
- Sound human resource management skills, including the ability to develop and/or apply human resource management practices and systems.
- Ability to provide input into the development, implementation and monitoring of business and marketing plans.
- Sound conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
