Belridge Secondary College (SC) is seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and creative Digital Technologies teacher.
The successful applicant will be a dedicated and motivated educator who has the ability to provide high quality digital technologies teaching and learning programs that are as diverse and varied as the needs of our students. You will ideally be well versed in the Western Australian Curriculum for technologies and able to develop and deliver courses to students of varying ability levels across Year 7 to Year 12. Applicants should feel confident in their skills and abilities to encourage student passion and appreciation for digital technologies by relating student learning to real-world situations and industry.
To be successful in this role, you will facilitate a learning experience that supports students to become confident, curious and critical users of digital and applied design technologies, as well as being creative producers of design solutions across a range of technologies contexts. As a Digital Technology teacher you will be able to value and appreciate that in an increasingly technological and complex world, students need to be able to critically analyse and creatively respond to design challenges and problems.
Specific knowledge and skills in the delivery of one or more of the following is advantageous: understanding of computer hardware and software, robotics, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) skills, online platforms, engineering and design concepts, coding languages and networking. The capacity to teach one or more of the above listed technologies at an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) level is desirable.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
